The Lecanto Girls soccer team advanced to the finals during this game that ended in penalty kicks. This goalie couldnt get the shot and the Lecanto girls along with one of their coaches celebrate in the rear.

This photo was taken when I was working at a Tampa weekly in 1976 to illustrate a local series of stories about a girl that was seriously burned when the Ford Pinto she was driving gas tank exploded. Ford had the advertising campaigning using a light bulb stating "Ford has a better idea."

A unfinished back tattoo and Mardi Gras beads was one of my favorite photo taken during a recent trip to New Orleans. I liked the way the tattoo was framed by the beads and the natural street light painted and distorted the face in the background making an ordinary street scene look interesting.

Rev. Leroy Bellamy has served 50 years as pastor of the Grace Temple of the Living God in Citrus County and was tenacious in his battle to build a new church building for his small congregation. The church was built and the pastor got married at age 89.

In memory of the Sept. 11 attack on America the Citrus County Fraternal Order of Police held a payer service at Citrus High school to pay tribute to those who died in the World trade center, the Pentagon and a vacant field in Pennsylvania.

Persistent rain and windy conditions didnt dampen the sprits of Citrus County residents who turned out for the memorial Day Service at Fero Memorial Gardens to pay tribute to those who died defending the United States.

Ilene Warnos curses the judge and his family after she was sentenced to death. Warnos was convicted of killing several men she picked up along Interstate 75 between Tampa and Gainesville. Warnos was recently executed by lethal injection.

On the verge of being evicted, well-known Inverness resident Josephine Bell reflects on her situation. Bell has keen memories of her life in the area and how the city was when she and her husband, who passed away 15 years ago, lived in Inverness.
